co founders of Re:connectology
Alex
I co-founded Re:connectology with Chloe because of my own experience of the profound impact that movement and reconnecting with the body can have on wellbeing. As a qualified Minded Institute Yoga Therapist, I bring together yoga therapy, movement, anatomy and postural alignment to help people understand these connections and explore new possibilities for change.
I have over 20 years’ experience in secondary education, much of it supporting neurodivergent young people and those experiencing trauma and mental health difficulties. I have led and developed alternative education provisions and specialist settings, giving me a strong understanding of the whole person and the impact of their environment and everyday life.
I’m passionate about learning and continue to develop my practice through specialist training in chronic pain, autism, eating disorders, anatomy, physiology and postural alignment.
My aim is to help people understand their body, reconnect with themselves and find ways of living that work for them.

Chloe

I co-founded Re with Alex because, through my own experience and yoga teacher training, I increasingly understood the importance of working with the body alongside the mind. I am a specialist Mental Health Occupational Therapist and Compassion Focused Therapist, with over 16 years’ experience working across a range of mental health settings.
The more I learnt, the more I recognised how often the connection between body and mind was missing from traditional mental health services. This led me on a journey to bring these different perspectives together, including developing my understanding of compassion and how we can work with our minds, bodies and nervous systems rather than against them.
I am a qualified Compassion Focused Therapist, having trained with Professor Paul Gilbert and other leading experts in the field. I’m passionate about helping people find what is genuinely helpful for them and, importantly, bridging the gap between knowing what might help and being able to put it into practice in everyday life.
